YOUTH'S HEAD INJURED. MISHAP AT MISSION BAY. Concussion and abrasions were received by a youth, John Carpenter, aged 18, of 21, Union Street, as the result of falling into very shallow water yesterday afternoon at Mission Bay. Some friends had joined hands in a circle to toss him into the air with the intention of catching him as he came down. He turned in the air and landed on his head in about six inches of water. He was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where he was found to be suffering from slight concussion. Car Somersaults. A remarkable escape from eeriou3 injury was experienced by four men in a five-seater motor car which turned a complete somersault when running down Parnell Rise shortly before 10.30 last night.' The car was badly wrecked, yet the men were able to walk away after the accident with only slight abrasions. The car capsized when, the driver swerved to avoid a motor cyclist who was coming up the hill. Some passers-by assisted them to right the car and push, it to one side-of the road. A boy, William Vaughan, aged 11, of 14, Sussex Street, Grey Lynn, was struck inadvertently while playing on the swings at a park 6ome days ago. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from internal injuries. His condition is fairly serious. A farmer, Mr. Robert F. Thrope, aged 30, of Ramarama,' was kicked by a horse yesterday morning and received a fractured thigh. He was taken to the i Auckland Hospital. Fall From Cycle. ! Due to the front wheel of his bicycle I skidding on a tramline in Quay Street, near Central wharf, this morning, Gordon Kyle, aged 17, was thrown off his vehicle on to the road. He was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the [ casualty ward of the Auckland Hospital, where he received treatment for I an injury to his left hand. HOSPITAL ACCIDENT CASES. There has been no change in the condition of the tram conductor, Mr. C. RJ. Miller, who received severe head injuries as the result of falling from the back platform of a tram in Manukau Road, Epsom, a week ago last Friday, according to a statement made by the Auckland Hospital authorities today. Mr. Miller is still tuiconscious, and his condition is very serious. No change is reported in the condition of James Arkhurst, aged 20, of Pukekohe, who was knocked down by a motor lorry whilst riding on his push cycle at Takanini on Sunday week last. He is in a semi-conscious condition and is still serious.
