U.S. Senate Attack for Default In War Debt. AMAZING RESENTMENT. (Received 11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, January 20. A concentrated attack on France's default of the war debt payment was loosed in the Senate t'o-day, after Senator Robinson (Republican, Indiana) had termed France a thorough ingrate, urging the prompt passage of the Johnson Bill to bar financial dealings with nations failing to pay. Senator Fee (Republican, Ohio), said that France has assumed a. childish attitude toward America, who had helped her in time of need with money and men! Senator Copeland (Democrat, New York), said that it was amazing lloW much resentment was felt by the American people over the failure of Fi'ance to 1 meet her obligations. He told of an outstanding American journalist, of New York, a member of the Legioll of Honour, who had returned his award to the French Government because of its default.
