MAN RESCUES BOY.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Thursday. A boy, lan Melville, of Mititai, got into difficulties while bathing off Mititai wharf, six miles down the river, and was carried up the river by an extraordinarily strong tide. Mr. Maurice Ball, also of Mitiai, attracted by the lad's cries, dived into the river and held him until a boat arrived. The rescued lad was exhausted when picked up and was totally unable to help himself. Mr. Ball is to be commended upon his prompt action.
