PREMIER'S VIEW.
TIMES CALL FOR PLUCK
HOPES OF RECOVERY.
DETERMINATION TO WIN. The Prime Minister, the Eight Hon.. G. W. JForbes, has sent the following New Year message:— "The closing year has been one of trial for the- very great majority of our people, but the present indications give some grounds for hope that the coming year may witness a measure of recovery from the economic depression which has so long held in its grip all countries of the world. The times have called, and still call, for the exercise of that British tenacity and pluck which we have always been proud to regard as characteristic of New Zealanders. If we continue to face the future with a calm determination we shall certainly surmount the difficulties of the coming year. With a full realisation that this 6pirit predominates among our people, I wish all my fellow citizens ja happier and brighter New Year."
