NORTH ISLAND TIDAL CONSTANTS. Strong Easterly winds retard, and Westerly vincls aertu rule the tidal movements, to the extent sometimes of 35 minutes. This should be borne in mind when consulting the tides To find the time of high water at any of the* undermentioned places, add w subtract the tidal constant to the time of high water at Auckland.
