YACHT MAVIS.
SHELTERING AT MERCURY BAY (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, Thursday. The yacht Mavis, which left Tauranga for Auckland on Monday evening, with A. Dickson, J. Dickson and H. Kensington on board, with the intention of starting in the ocean race from Auckland to Tauranga for centreboard boats, has had to shelter from a south-east gale. A message by pigeon received by Mr. H. Stevens staged that the Mavis was sheltering yesterday at Mercury Bay.
