PERSIAN OIL WELLS.

DISPUTE IN ABEYANCE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 21. In reply to a telegram from the President of the Council of the League, requesting that no step be taken which might affect the status quo and thus aggravate the dispute with Britain regarding the oil concession, the Persian Government gives an assurance that it will "continue to abstain from any act calculated to aggravate or extend the alleged dispute."

Tlic Persian Government also expresses the belief tlint the cancellation of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company's concession is not calculated to provoke conflict between the two Governments, seeing that it has expressed a desire to arrive at an equitable agreement with the company.
