TRACK GALLOPS.
TRIALS AT ELLERSLIE. TWO-YEAR-OLDS GO FAST. SEVERAL HORSES SCHOOLED. Conditions were perfect for training at Ellerslie this morning, and there was a fair amount of fast work. The course proper, with the poles 50ft out, No. 3 grass hurdle and tan tracks were in use, aud the going was excellent. The Course Proper. Supreme Ruler was first out, being sent seven furlongs, Ruling King assisting him over the last five. He ran his first three in 41 4-ss, and completed the full distance in 1.34 4-5. They were on terms at the finish, the last five furlongs taking 1.7 1-5. Both these horses worked well. Wee Pat worked over six furlongs, but was not hurried, taking 1.26 3-3 for the journey. The two-year-olds Deputy Ruler aud Glenromney trotted round to the tliree-furlong post and came home in 38 2-ss. This was a useful effort, with Deputy Ruler showing to most advantage at the finish. Marching Song finished in front of Darma, with Angie some lengths away, at the end of half a mile, which occupied 54 l-ss. Court Haven, Sir Yal and Gay Broney finished in a bunch at the end of seven furlongs, which they covered in 1.36 3-5. These three maidens are on the improve. Tahae Mea and Llanore, after running their first three furlongs in 41 2-ss, got to the end of six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. Tahae Mea had a slight advantage at the finish. Over a similar distance Desert Star was going comfortably to register 1.24 3-5. Billy Boy did steady work over a round, running the last six furlongs in 1.29 2-5. Birkley joined him over the final three furlongs, which were traversed in 41 3-ss. Queen Arausio and Lady Winifrede were associated over six furlongs, running the first three in 41 2-ss, and the full distance in 1.23 2-5. Lady Winifrede tired towards the finish, and was several lengths away. Schizanthus ran home from the half-mile post in 54 2-ss. This was her first sprint since coming to Ellerslile, and she shaped satisfactorily. Jewelled Girdle jumped off at the seven-furlong post, and after taking 43s for the first three furlongs, finished up his task in 1.41 4-5. He went very scratchily at the start, but was going a little better toward the dnd. Gleuhaupo cantered round to the half-mile post and ran home in 52 3-ss. This mare has made marked improvement since the spring. On The Tan. Full Measure finished in front of Prince of Orange, with Absent several lengths away, after traversing a round in 1.52 2-5, the final six furlongs being covered in 1.22 2-5. Landlubber was allotted useful work,, registering 1.29 2-5 for his last six furlongs. The Jumpers. ■ Zane Grey, (H. Dulieu) and Brampton (R. Mcßae) were companions over folir schooling hurdles, which they negotiated safely. Zane Grey pleased the better of the pair, but Brampton, who was ridden hard into his fences, shaped better than usual. Demylus (Olive) and Thunderstorm (Simpson) were allotted a similar task. They cleared the first fence safely, but Thunderstorm hit the second hard and lost his rider, Demylus being pulled up to wait for him. Thunderstorm was remounted, the pair being sent at the two remaining obstacles, which Demylus cleared safely, Thunderstorm again losing his rider at the third. Claremore (L. Dulieu) gave a fast display over four hurdles. He got up a bit high at the first fence, but negotiated the remaining three in first rate style. He afterwards ran six furlongs on the tan in 1.24 3-5. Others to do useful tasks were: Kara-ngapai,-Royal Gallant, Mahkill, Wee Musk, Teremai, Patutahi, Neil, Deux Francs, Tetrarchate, Black Songster, Solomon, Kilniuir.
