The eight half-crown prizes for this competition were awarded to Jean Duncan, 15, Farrar Street, Grey Lynn, age 15; Hazel Ford, Awakino Road, Dargaville, age .15; Joyce Squire, Awakiuo Pt., Dargaville, age 14; .Stephen Heath, 30, Grove Road, Sandringham, Auckland, age 10; Flora Soar, Seacliffe Road, Onehuhga 5.E.5, age 11; Douglas Curtin, 24, Church Street, Ponsonby, age 12; Gordon Sadgrove, Portage Road, New Lynn, 5.W.4, age 11 j and Dudley Cole, Tanna Wata, Kaitieke, age 17.
Certificates of merit have been awarded as follow:—BLUE: Harold Cole, Winnie Waldron, Joan Skinner. PINK: Tim Gill, Selwyn Davison, A. J. Lowden. GREEN: Zela Carter, Molly Curtin, Edith Mason, Esme Somerfield, Charles Taylor. YELLOW: Freda Johnson, Jessie Meikle, Joan Fitzpatrick, Doreen Fitzpatrick, Sydney Mason, Jean Powley, James Johnson, Phyllis Beck, Winsome Granville-Jones.
