DEDICATION CEREMONIES. " w WEEK OF CELEBRATION (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NELSON, thie day. Elaborate arrangements were made for the dedication to-day of" the new Anglican Cathedral, which occupies a commanding position on a shapely hill at the head of one of the main streets of the town. The celebrations will continue for a week. At an impressive service* to-day the building was dedicated by the Primate, Archbishop Averill. His Excellency, the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, read the lessons, and the sermon was preached by Bishop Sadlier,?- Bishop of Nelson.

There will be three services to-morrow. Archbishop Averill will preach 'in the morning, Bishop Bennett, of Aotearoa, in the afternoon, and. Bishop West Watson, of Christchurch, in the evening. On Tuesday evening at a civic service the preacher will be Archbishop Julius. On Wednesday evening there will be a musical festival, when the cathedral choir and Harmonic Society will givo Mendelssohn's "Hymn of Praise." A day of intercession and thanksgiving in connection with the missions of the Ohurch - will be observed on Thursday, and the ceremonies will be brought to a close on Sunday, December 11.
