Rioting Prevents Sales for
Unpaid Taxes. MAYOR STRIPPED. (Received 1 p.m.) WINNIPEG, December 1. The officials of the town of Arborg have appealed to the Provincial Government for an armed protective force as the result of the rioting of 500 farmers who have prevented the sales of farms for unpaid taxes by storming the Town Hall and destroying the tax records. They forced the Mayor to resign after being stripped of his clothing.
