PERIL OF THAMES.
HIGH TIDES RESISTED. (British Official Wireless.) KUGBY, November 29. Exceptionally high tides, which were accompanied by strong squally winds, some of the gusts having a velocity of 00 to 70 miles an hour, caused considerable anxiety on Sunday night owing to the danger of the Thames overflowing. Emergency measures were taken to deal with the possibility and a watch was kept in the early hours of the morning, but the tide passed the full without any damage being done.
