Providing the weather reports are favourable, Sir Charles Kinjsford Smith •will commence his flight to New Zealand at 2 a.m. on January 12 from Gerringong Beach, on the south coast'. It is hoped to instal an apparatus on the Southern Cross, enabling wireless telephony to be carried on during the flight. "Smithy" stated that he will probably carry two passengers.
