Any number can take part. Tlio first thing to do is' to make the players line up, and give each, one a potato and a piece of string or tape. At {he word "Go" they have to tie a slipknot round the potato, and then run to a given point without dropping" the potato out of the • slip. ' This will, be very much more difficult* , than is probably imaginedr but it;is:heaps of ,fUn, and so is a great .game for picnics and parties in tlve garden.. . CROSS -TOUCH. Cross Touch, .too, is-a jolly game, in which any ,"number of players may take part. .• One boy or girl 'is selected as Touch, and- it is then his or e her business; to name another, whom; he at once chases and endeavours to touch; but should anyone else pass between them, he then has to rush after that player; and again if anyone else crosses between them, he must at once run after that particular one, and so on until he touches a-player who has not been crossed, who at once changes places with him, and in turn becomes Touch.
