WESTFIELD WEEKLY SALE. OX VALUES IMPROVE 5/ TO 10/. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., reports;— To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock, market beet was penned ill less than average numbers. There was an improved demand, and values improved from. 5/ to 10/ per heaci. Extra choice ox sold to 18/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 15/ to 17/; secondary and plain, 12/ to 14/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 14/ to 17/; secondary, 10/ to 13/. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £6 to £6 15/r lighter, £5 to £5 17/6; light, £4 to £4 17/6; unfinished and small, £2 to £3 15/. Heavy prime voung cows and heifers, £4 to lighter, £3 to £3 17/6; light, £2 to £2 17/6; other cows, £1 to £1 17/6. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., re-port:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market our beef pens contained 183 head (comprising 128 steers and So cows and heifers), compared with 200 head at last Wednesday s market. There was an improved demand, and generally values were firmer. Dalcetv and Company, Ltd.. report:— To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market ox beef came forward in average numbers. There was an. improved demand, all classes appreciating V per 1001b. Cow and heifer beef came forward in slightly under average numbers, with improved demand.
