OVERSEAS LEAGUE.
At the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Overseas League, held in the clubrooms last week, the following officers were elected for the coming year:—Prsident, Mr. John Alexander; vice-presidents, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, Mrs. M. Bradstreet, Miss A. R. Quayle, Mr. J. Rentoul, Mr. F. E. do Guerrier and Mr. Laird Thomson; new members of committee, Mrs. Angwin, Mrs. Sharood, Madame Aileen Johns, Mrs, Smart, Miss I. Jennings, Miss J. McClymont, Miss Earl and Mr. de Lange; hon. secretary, Miss N. Montgomery; branch secretary, Miss. D. Webster; hon. treasurer, Mr. G. S. Babbage; hon. auditor, Mr. G. O'Halloran. In addressing the members the retiring president, Mr. J. M. Melville, congratulated the branch on the progress made during the past year, which has shown a marked increase in membership, necessitating the move to larger clubrooms. He urged them to keep in mind their main object;ve, that of being an important link in a chain of service stations throughout the Empire, and also to observe locally the main plank in the Overseas League's platform—to help ope another.
