SEARCH FOR A HUSBAND.
SMUGGLED GERMAN GIRL. Else Goldcnitz, a young Gorman typist, made a secret voyage to England to ??et married, and on arrival was unable to find licr prospective husband. She -was brought before Plymouth magistrates charged with entering the United Kingdom without the permission. »f the immigration officers. It was stat- 1 »d that she was smuggled into the country, and that she refused to give the name of the cargo ship in which she crossed from Antwerp, or the name of the man responsible. It was further stated that a man liv'ug in Plymouth was ready to marry Miss Goldenitz, and it was suggested that the case should be adjourned to f acilitate her journey to Germany, and ber return again to Plymouth under the regular conditions of travel. The magistrates agreed to this course, *nd adjourned the case. Later detectives escorted Miss Golde- ■ uitz to the liner Columbus, and arranged a passage for her to Bremen. When the case was called she was already on the way back to Germany. The summons was withdrawn, the Chief Constable remarking that the Secretary of State approved this course. i
