MACHINES DISPLACE MEN. LONDON, November 3. "The worst thing about this job is that you are not employing enough people—you have so much automatic machinery," said the Prince of Wales to the managing director of a can-making factory ho visited at Worcester recently. The director explained that as it was the height of the canning season, it was impossible to do the necessary work without machinery. He had consulted other employers, he said, and had urged them to think out schemes for giving employment during the winter.
