Ottawa Agreement Welcomed In Yorkshire. M.P. CONTRADICTED. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 30. A special correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states, that employers and employees in the West Riding alike declare as unjustified the scepticism regarding the value of Ottawa to the worsted and woollen trades expressed by Mr. H. Holds worth, M.P. (Lib., Bradford) in the Commons, when he said nobody in the woollen trade expected arty benefit from the agreements. Last year's duties considerably benefited the trade of Bradford and Huddersfield, despite the huge dumpings of foreign cloths jnst before the duties were imposed. The new duties enabled Yorkshire manufacturers to meet their foreign rivals on competitive terms. Much of the dumped cloths had already been re-exported. The home trade had improved and exports were reviving. The latter were now only checked by the currency restrictions in Eastern Europe and South America.
