CYCLING.
AUCKLAND CLUB. The 1032 road season of the Auckland Cycle Club was concluded at Tamaki on Saturday, under showery conditions. The races were a five-mile handicap for juniors and a twenty-five-mile handicap for seniors. A strong wind slowed up the riders, and times were slow. Four started in the first junior race, and the result was :—S. Weller (2.0), time, 16.34, 1; C. Rafferty (2.30), 2; K. Clarke (2.30), 3. P. Bicknell tscr) registered fastest time, in 1C.17, while the winner finished 31s ahead of the second man, who, in turn, was a length away. The 15 senior starters were :—F. Clarke 8.15; L. Cooper, J. Sampson, 7.0; R. Halliday, D. Hall, F. Fieldsend, 6.0; B. Strathdee, G. Harvey, 5.0 : F. Lowndes, 4.15 ; M. Ilibburt, 3.45; G. Hall, 3.0; R. Watson, W. Hansen, 1.0; S. Litchfield, K. Alathieson, scr. The placed riders were :—R. R. Watson (1.0), 1; G. Hall (3.0), 2; W. Hansen (1.0), 3; E. Hall (6.0), 4. Fastest time was registered by R. K. Watson in 71.35. Watson's win gave him the points cup, with 15$ points, F. I.owndes being 10. The opening track race will be held at Khyber Pass on Wednesday, November D. WHAKATANE CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Saturday. The Whakatane Cycle Club held a road race of 21 miles to-day in. very windy and wet weather. There were 12 starters, and the race resulted:—XV. Brennan (12.0), 1; K. Benton (6.0), 2; R. Harland (6.0). 3. Fastest time: D. Aberhart (30s), 55.22, breaking the course record. The points scored for the Leader Cup so far are : J. Wliitten 33, R. Hansen 16, S. Doncaster 14. The Bay df Plenty champion race, from Te Puke to Whakatane, 45 miles, will be held next Saturday, finishing the roadracing season.
