UNLAWFULLY ON PREMISES.
TWO MEN FOUND GUILTY. ' The trial of William Preston, aged 46, a carter (Mr. Sullivan), and George Nottingham, 45, a labourer (Mr. Noble), who were jointly charged with breaking and entering a boarding house in Wynyard Street with intent to commit theft, and with being rogues and vagabonds, ended on Saturday afternoon before Mr. Justice Herdjuan. It was alleged that Preston was found in the yard of the house and Nottingham in the house, without lawful excuse. A verdict of not guilty on the charge of breaking and entering, but guilty of being found by night on premises without lawful excuse, was returned by the jury after a short retirement. His Honor remanded both men until after he had consulted with the probation officer. i
