PROLIFIC EWE DIES.
The death has occurred of "Betty," the nine-year-old pet ewe of Master Tommy Spittles, the son of Mr. H. Spittles, a farmer of Meadle, near Princess Risborough, says the "Live Stock Journal." "Betty" died in giving birth to seven lambs, which brings her total up to 24 in seven years. Betty, who was brought up on a feeding bottle, gave birth to triplets when she ,wa§. two years old, and altogether she had triplets five times and twins
once. By reason of her prolific breed- , iiig "Betty" %vas the originator of Mr. r Spittles! whole, flock, and as several of tier libnbs have Ijfld triplets and twins, r'ijjtik flock now numbers between 50 and '•&$;./WSiett.two'years of ager Betty- was sheared for thes .first time, and. yielded wool.
