SEVENTEEN PERSONS FINED. VARIOUS EXCUSES MADE. » Seventeen persons were summoned by the radio inspector at the Police Court this morning for being in possession of unlicensed radio stations. Various excuses were advanced, several stating that they did not understand that a license was necessary when sets were taken home on approval, while others said the dealers from whom they purchased sets undertook to pay for a license. . „ , , "Anyone who has a set installed longer than seven days has to pay for a license," said, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., who imposed fines of £1 in each case and costs. One owner who had a secret aerialunder the floor of his house was fined fl 10/ and costs.
