CHRISTCHURCH SALESMAN. f FOUR CHARGES OF THEFT.. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Warning him that a lapse from the right path would most probably get him into serious trouble, Mr. E. D. -Mosley, S.M., gave George Rothwell Champion another chance when he appeared in the Magistrate's Court this morning on four charges of theft and one charge of issuing a valueless cheque. Champion, a salesman, aged 21, pleaded guilty to offences which had been committed at Auckland. He was charged with obtaining £30 from Joseph. Ulrick by means of a valueless cheque on June 28, with stealing a printing frame from Warner Crocker, with stealing an artlite sign from Arthur William Harris, with stealing a theodolite and tripod, valued at. £20, from Basil Warner Crocker, and with stealing a cheque book from Sydney Phillipson. Accused was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within two years, conditional on the restitution of the property mentioned in the charges.
