The season lias now ended for speculation in potatoes and shipments are confined for the most part to orders for northern outports. The Waipiata on Thursday took only 350 sacks from Lyttelton, about the smallest shipihent of the year- There are still a few potatoes in store, but in most districts there has been a greater clearance at this period than for many years. F.o.b. values for whites are £6 to £6 2/6 a t6n, and to farmers, £4 15/ to £5. Dakotas are worth £6 10/ and £5 7/6, f.0.b., and" on trucks respectively. . Fowl wheat is firm a$ 5/1 a bushel, f.0.b., sacks extra, Lyttelton, and 5/, Timaru. The oats, chaff and small seeds markets are lifeless.
