UNEMPLOYMENT OUTLOOK. SEASONAL WORK ABSORBING MEN. "The unemployment position, generally speaking, has eased somewhat," said Mr. J. S. Jessep, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, this morning. He explained that seasonal work was helping considerably,, and although he had no definite figures he knew that in some places quite a lot of men had been placed in employment.

Mr. Jessep leaves for the JTorth tomorrow. He will attend -a, conference of the six northern county councils at Kawakawa on Monday, when the handling of unemployed on roads to open up back country for development purposes will be discussed.
