EARLY SETTLERS REGISTER.
RE-UNION ON TUESDAY NEXT.
The efforts of the New Zealand Old Colonists' Association to compile a register of the earliest settlers and their descendants have been widely commended, as it is recognised that with the advance of years many of the pioneers will be forgotten, notwithstanding the wonderful work they did in laying the foundation of the Dominion. The value of the association's register has been recognised by many people, such as the Rt. Hon. W. F. Masscy, Dame Massey, Sir Robert Stout, Rt. Hon. J. Gordon Coatee, Hon. Sir Edwin Mitchelson, Lady Mitchelson, Sir Henry Brett, Sir James Coates, all of whom were born or resided in New Zealand for over 50 years and were registered as members. The association invites all persons who arrived in any part of New Zealand prior to 1880 and their descendants, who are at least 50 years old, to register. The lion, secretary, Mr. S. Coldicutt 1 , will supply registration forms on application. Enrolment arid membership is free, the association being maintained by voluntary subscriptions made by many of Auckland's prominent citizens. The annual reunion will take place in the Town Hall on Tuesday next at 1.30 p.m.
