At the wool sales 8342 bales were offered, including 3950 from New Zealand, whereof approximately 3060 were sold. A good assortment of New Zealands met sustained competition at steady prictes. Compared with closing July rates fine Merinos now show an advance of 10 per cent, medium and inferior 5, fine erossbreds 10, coarse 5, slipes 5 to 10, lower grades par to 5 up. Greasy crossbreds, New Zealand, KS/TB, top pricc average 6%d; Montalto, 12 and ll%d; scoured, Grays/Hills, 20d and 17V^d. LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. Mount Lyells are quoted at 19/, and P. and O. deferred stock at 20/. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 7th instant:—Wool sales: The wool sales continue with good demand and competition active, but prices fluctuate somewhat from day to day. About 83 per cent sold daily.

A. H. Turnbull and Co. are in receipt Of a cable from Messrs. W. Weddcl and Co., Ltd., dated London, 7th inst., reading as follows:—Danish butter, 118/ to 120/; New Zealand, salted, 106/ to 115/; Australian, 102/ to 105/. Market slow. New Zealand cheese: White, 65/ to 66/; coloured, 59/ to 61/; Canadian cheese, white and coloured, 67/ to 69/. Market quiet.
