"WIV FEVVERS ! "

I hear there is to be a vogue for ostrich feathers, writes our London correspondent, this autumn, which should be good news for wholesale buyers who laid in stocks when there was a minor boom last year. Already you see the feathers in the form of scarves, shoulder knots, and fans in smart ballrooms. And West End dress saloons show advance evening gowns, decorated with tiny frills of the dainty feathery fronds, as well as boas for wear out of doors. But milliners will have nothing to do with the ostrich. Feather trimmings on hats are too fussy for modern woman—too reminiscent of Hampstead Heath on a bank holiday. The Queen, by the way, is rather fond of the ostrich-down coat collar, and the Duchess of York often wears one of the new old-fashioned boae.
