SLOW AT SMITHFIELD. BANK'S REPORT. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business this week: — Wethers: Trade is slow. Low prices of other meat arc checking the demand for New Zealand. Ewes: There ie a moderate demand. Prices are a shade lower. Lambs: Trade is slow. The market is affected by heavy supplies from other sources. Wethers: Light, 3V4d to 3%d per lb; heavy, 2%d to 3d. Ewes: 2d to 2'/id. Lambs: Twos, 4%d to sd; eights, 4Mid to 4%d; fours, 4d to 4 1 / id: seconds, 4d to 4V4d.
