NO IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT. BETTER TIMES AWAITED. (By - Telegraph.—Parliamentary Keporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. No promise of immediate replacement of the clock tower of the Gisborne Post Office could be given by the Postmaster General, the Hon. A. Hamilton, when replying in the House of Representatives yesterday to a question by Mr. W- D. Coleman, M.P., who eaid that the tower had been eo badly damaged ,by the recent earthquake that it had to be demolished. He asked the Minister .if .it could be replaced by. an earthquake-proof tower. Mr. Hamilton eaid that for safety purposes "it had. been found necessary to demolish the tower, but to replace it with one of earthquake-proof material would be too costly at present. The question would be reconsidered when ! better times arrived.
