STATE ADVANCES.
LOANS TO AUCKIANDERS. OPERATIONS OF DEPARTMENT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Details of the advances made by the State Advances Office during the year ended March 31 last are contained in the annual report of the State Advances Office, presented to Parliament yesterday. Under the Advances to Settlers branch the Department has made 783 advances, amounting to £571,790. The Auckland advances amount to £242,521, Wellington to £107,702, and Canterbury to £110,222. The rural advances amount to £182,815, Auckland taking £79,985, Wellington £31,400, and Canterbury £23,270. In the Advances to Workers branch 31G advances have been made, totalling £200,145. Auckland has received £41,720, Wellington £07,070, and Christchurch £34,310. The advances to local authorities have totalled £1900.
