AUCKLAND CLUB.
Saturday was cup day at Tamaki for Auckland Cycle Club members, a 40mile handicap being' decided over an out and home course for a cup donated by Vice-president Frank McAneny. The day was gloriously nnc and the riders had everything in their favour for the final work out over a distance before the big classic from Cambridge io'Auckland in n fortnight's .time. A splendid field of 24 started as follows : J. Rollerson, 30.0; T. ;Davis, A. Mackrell; .T. Sampson, 19.0 ;■ E. Grover, R. Porter, F.. Lowndes, 12.30: F. Fieldsend, 11.0; Is". Healey, A. Brass, 10.0; B. Strathdee. C. Rae, P. Bicknell, 8.30; S. Ward. C. Galbraith, S. Kara, 7.30; M. Hibburt, 3.30; G. Hall, W. Pinker, 3.0; J. Cooney, K. Mathieson, 2.0; R. Watson, 1.0; S. Litchfield. W. Pratney, scr. The placed riders were :—A. Mackrell, 19.0, 1 ; C. Rae. $.30, 2; K. J. Mathieson, 2.0, 3; S. Ward, 7.30, 4. Winner's time, 2h 8m 2s. Fastest time was recorded by Ken. Mathieson in Ih 56m, lowering the record by 30s.
