DAIRY MANAGER ATTACKED.
BLINDFOLDED AND BOUND. POLICE ARREST YOUNG MAN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Awakened at one o'clock this morning by someone entering his bach at Haywards, in the Hutt Valley, Mr. W., A. Cowell, manager of a dairy, was attacked and blindfolded, and, not being in good health, was unable to prevent himself from being bound. Ho feigned unconsciousness, and the intruder stole £7 11/ from a desk. The whole incident took place in the dark. After the man left Mr. Cowell got free and gave the alarm. The police later arrested Alfred James Gorrie, aged 20, at Belmont, and he was charged with breaking and entering and theft. Accused was remanded. It was stated that the money had been recovered.
