"HIKING" ON SUNDAY.
Sabbatarians who are opposed to "Inking" on Sunday are strange, and unfathomable in their ways, but perhaps stranger still is th* fact that we continue to allow them to ex er * -cise so much control over us. When the Sun day cinema question was before the House of Commons and members were allowed a ire vote," tlie second reading passed by a narro majority. Very shortly afterwards the " ,e ®* bers enjoying the same freedom destroyed bill in committee. Since then another bi , not essentially different from the first, n been carried by a large majority. By wn logic are cinemas which open on Sundays co pelled to devote their profits to charity i the State holds that there is nothing in cinemas being open on Sundays, then t restricted concession is merely a concessi to Sabbatarian obscurantism. Other ' ted diversions of the. mournful Sabbath, 1 museums, zoos and concerts, are exempt fro compulsory contribution to charity.
