FRENCH BONDS.
CONVERSIONS ARRANGED. POSITION OF LOCAL HOLDERS. Tie French Consul, M. Joubert, has received telegraphic instructions concerning the formalities to be .fulfilled by bearers of loans or French Treasury bonds, who might not wish to accept .conversions that bave been arranged, and who might ask for a refund. The Consul's advice is as follows:— 7 "The Parliament has voted the law of conversion of loans 5 per cent, 1915, 1916, 6 per cent 1920, 6 per cent 1927, and 5 per cent 1928; of obligations, 6 per cent 1927, and of Treasury bonds, 7 per cent, 1927, issued in francs. No formality is required from French or foreign bearers who accept the conversion. Those who do not accept it and who ask for a refund will have to submit, for visa, to the competent French Consul, at latest on September' 24, their request for a refund, m duplicate, giving full details of titles, viz.:—Number on titles, amount of loan for loans, and nominal amount for bonds and obligations. The visa will also _be affixed on titles which will, necessarily, have to be produced to the Consuls in support of request. All such vl sas, delivered in the interest of the administration, will be delivered free of charge. Consuls will hand over the original request to the interested parties, who alone will be responsible for forwarding same, as well as their titles, to the French Treasury, where those documents should reach at latest on November 30, 1932."
