NORTH SHORE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the North Shore Cricket Club was held last evening. The report showed that the cluh succeeded in winning the senior B championship, whilst the fourth grade were runners-up in their grade. The Vercoe Cup, for the beet bowline performance In the senior A team, was won bv H. Webb. In supplementing the report," the president. Dr. H. C. Bennett, stated that, the club was in a satisfactory nofiition. having a credit balance of £28. Tt was hoped to secure the services of C. C Bacre as coach for the coming season. The following officers were elected: — President, Dr. H. C. Bennett:. vice-presi-dents, Messrs. H. F. W. Metkle and F. Wnrren were added to last year's list; secretary. Mr. T. B. Smith ; treasurer, Mr. A. T,. Simmonds: .auditor, Mr. A. K Wilson : club captain, Mr. "W. J. Coates; committee, Messrs. S. Ferguson, u Colehourne. A. Ferguson. K. Smith. W. Webb, S Sale and l>. ' Oil poured on a rough sea calms it because.the oij is viscous; it does not move rapidly or splash like water and so, being Hghter, it spreads on the surface of the sea and acts as a restraint on the waves.
