NORTHLAND TOURNEY.

The Favourites Beaten in Semi-finals. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, this day. The final stages of the North Auckland golf championship were reached at the Mount Denby links this morning, the two favourites, Glanville (holder) and Tallis (Titirangi), going down to Dr. Buckley and MeManus, both of Whangarei. A nasty cross wind and one or two showers of rain made conditions trying but the golf was good. Both Buckley and McMaoiu owe their success in the semifinals to their putting, each match being won 4 up and 3. Buckley started off well chipping out for an eagle three at the first. Glanville's putting let him down and more often than not he missed the two allowed by golfers for greens. MeManus was aleo well on the putting and was too deadly for Tallis. Results:— Second Round.—MeManue (Whangarei) beat Johnson (Dargaville), 4 and 3; Talks (Titirangi) beat Greville (Dargaville) 3 and 2; Buckley t vVhangarei) beat Bailey (Whangarei), 1 up; Glanville (Whangarei) beat Izzan (Dargaville), 9 and 7. Semi-finals.—MeManus beat Tallis, 4 m<l 3; Buckley beat Glanville, 4 and 3. Yesterday afternoon's bogey match went to Johnson (Dargaville), 1 up.
