WEIR OVERFLOWS.
Farming Districts Menaced By Murray River. MAN MAROONED IN TREE. (Received 12 noon.) MELBOURNE, this day. Flood waters are pouring over the Hume weir on the Murray River, menacing the towns and fanning districts. Already the water is 30in above the crest of the spillway and is stiil rising. All the ■ towns likely to be affected have been warned and hundreds of dole campers along the river bank have moved. The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga burst its banks. The Gundagai district is also threatened, and the "-settlers are moving to higher ground. The flood danger is not yet over in many parts of Victoria. If the Murray River rises much more, many townships will be in danger. A man was moving cattle when the flood waters surrounded him at Clear Springs. He climbed a tree, where he was marooned for five hours before being rescued.
