"TOO FINE A DAY."

A conductor on one of the cars on the Avondale run yesterday afternoon was collecting fares, when a woman whom he approached mentioned casually that she intended to throw herself over Grafton bridge. The conductor expressed the opinion that it would be a pity to spoil euch a beautiful day by doing anything so rash, but the woman seemed intent on the idea. The conductor therefore kept a look-out on the trip in to town and even, tually saw a constable, whom he called. When the woman alighted the conductor left the constable to "talk her over."
