FOUND ON BEACH.
MARRIED WOMAN'S DEATH. The inquest concerning the death of Mrs. Caroline Charlotte McDonnell, aged 49, whose body was found on the beach at the foot of Wallace Street, Heme Bay, yesterday, was opened by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning. Matthew McDonnell, retired farmer, of Clevedon Road, Otahuhu, said his wife left home at 2.45 p.m. on Wednesday to visit friends in Heme Bay. She was then in good health and spirits. In March last she suffered a nervous breakdown. Constable Haines said he founi the body lying face downwards among some rocks, below high-water mark. Deatn had apparently occurred some hours previously. The clothing was wet through, and witness was of the opinion that the body had been washed up by the tide. There were no suspicious circumstances. The coroner adjourned the proceedings sine die pending the receipt of a medical i report. I
