CAT BURGLAR?
SUSPECT ARRESTED. STOLEN PROPERTY FOUND. Ever since the series of "cat burglaries" in the city Detectives Hunt and Maliood have been making investigations and this morning they arrested a young man in an apartment house in Wynyard Street. When the detectives called at 9 a.m. the young man they sought was in bed. He was taken to the detective office and there interviewed, and later he was charged with breaking aiul entering the Victoria Insurance Company's, premises, Sliortland Street, by day, and stealing 3/4 in money, a bunch of keys, and a wristlet watch. The police state that a bunch of keys belonging to the manager of the insurance company, including the key to the safe, were taken from the building and were found in the suspect's poeket this morning. It is also alleged that the man arrested has admitted breaking into the building. As a result of the arrest the police hope to clear up a number of other thefts. The young man will appear in the Police Court to-morrow morning.
