COMMUNITY CLUB.

At a meeting of the Community Club on Wednesday afternoon an address on birth control was delivered by Dr. Wilkie. She dealt with the subject from two angles—the inevitability of birth control and the need of a controlled system for the dissemination of scientific knowledge of it. Dr. Wilkie said that in Great Britain special clinics were open to women for advice and help on these matters, and these had proved of inestimable value to thousands of women over whom had hung the everconstant dread of a large family. After Dr. Wilkie's address several other members spoke on the same subject, the majority being in favour of the establishment of clinics in New Zealand on similar lines to those operating in Great Britain. During the meeting other matters of interest to women were also discussed.
