ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY.

AUCKLAND BRANCH OFFICERS,

The annual meeting of the Auckland ■branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held last evening, when Mr. H. 0. ■ Robinson presided over an attendance of about 60 members. The following were elected members of the local committee for the ensuing year: Mesere. D. Steen, G. Grey Campbell, J. ,W. Highland, W. Crawford Young and P. J. Dawson. Messrs. A. M. Seaman, J. M. Elliffeahd H. C. Jtobineon, Auckland councillors, automatically became exofficio members of the committee. Additional interest was lent to, the •occasion by the attendance of the president of the society, Mr. W. A. Smith, of Christchurch, who addressed the meeting on the recent decisions of the council and the general activities of the society. He also spoke upon the etepe being taken by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce to assist farmers to tide over the present difficult times.
