Polish Tax Collectors Given Wide Powers.

WARSAW, August 31.
Driven to desperation by the growing deficit due to the shrinkage of taxation revenue* the Government has issued an emergency decree authorising tax collectors to enter a defaulter's house at any hour of the day or night and personally search him or his house for money and valuables with which to discharge its obligation.
