CONCESSIONS TO MINERS,
HUNTLY MESSAGES TO PREMIER
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, this day. The following telegram was forwarded to-day by Mr. J. A. Shaw, secretary of the Huntly Businessmen's Association, to the Prime Minister:—"The Huntly township is in a state of depression, due to 150 miners having received notice of dismissal last week. Any concessions granted the Northern miners should not be at the expense of the Waikato miners, as this would aggravate the position." The Mayor of Huntly also has sent a telegram *to the Prime Minister in similar terms. The telegrams were sent in view of the conference- to-day at Wellington in reference to the Waro mine at Hikurangi.
