SCHOOLBOY KILLED.
KNOCKED DOWN" BY CAR. HEAD STRUCK BY MUDGUARD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Friday. Ernest Heatley, an eight-year-old schoolboy, was knocked down by a motor car as he was attempting to cross Studholme Street, Morrinsville, this afternoon, and he jeceived injuries from which he died on the way to hospital. He was a son of Mr. Bertram Heatley, a linesman employed by the Railways Department. The car was driven by Mrs. Dorothy Greenville, wife of Mr. W. F. Greenville, farmer, of Kereone. On his way home from school with a number of other children, the boy was crossing the street, and, at the approach of the car, it is said that he hesitated, made as if to run back, and then went on. He was struck by a front mudguard, and his skull was fractured.
