FARM RETURNS.

Decrease of Area Being Worked At Home. WHEAT GROWING INCREASES. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 5. The agricultural returns for England and Wales show that 9,302,000 acres of arable land are under cultivation this year, being a decrease of 220.000 acres compared with last year. There is a shrinkage of the acreage under barley, oats and rye, but an increase of 91,000 acres under wheat. The total agricultural workers number 710,000, a decrease of 20,000. There is a marked increase in livestock, especially in cattlc and pigs.
