Tile Wowing of trumpets has boon sueli a feature of New Zealand that now they have to be laid a«.ide it is necessary to adopt a "■hush-hush" policy where its grandiose schemes have gone astray. "Welfare Worker" in your issue of August 2 has drawn attention to an angle of "relief" of which everyone is cognisant but of which everyone seems to be afraid to tell the truth. The relief worker who has to leave his home for camp or farm work gets only a fraction of the sympathy and help he deserves. Many of the people who have to contribute to the upkeep of the unemployed wiio stay at home are infinitely worse oil' than some of "the poor relief workers." DISGUSTED.
