WHEY BUTTER.
EXPORTS FROM NEW ZEALAND PROHIBITION URGED. ■ (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Friday. The opinion that the export of whey and second-grade butter should be totally prohibited was urged at a meeting of the Waikato branch of the Farmers' Union to-day. Mr. C. J. Pearce (Ohaupo) said that about 2000 tons of whey and secondgrade butter left for the British markets annually, and if that went on the New Zealahd industry would be jeopardised. He said that the whey and second-grade butter could be consumed in New Zealand. As it was, some of it was passed off in England as "first grade," and New Zealand's reputation suffered. The meeting passed a resolution urging the prohibition of export of whey and second-class butter. I
